Steeling the show Madiz makes history as LR confirms yacht’s class

CELEBRATIONS have been held in Greece for the oldest surviving steel vessel classed with Lloyd’s Register, writes Nigel Lowry. The Greek owners of the Madiz, a 105- year-old yacht built on the Clyde, recently embarked on a long labour of love to restore the historic vessel to LR’s 100A1 notation.
